Clean Corporate Law Firm
A trustworthy, whitespace-heavy site for a small law practice with team profiles, practice areas and appointment booking.
01
App overview and objectives
A law firm site that answers the questions clients are too embarrassed to ask: what this costs, how long it takes, and what happens next. Practice areas, lawyer profiles and a secure consultation request.
02
The problem worth solving
Legal clients arrive anxious and uninformed. The firm that explains process and fees plainly wins the enquiry before a competitor has finished loading its stock photography.
03
Target audience
- Primary — Individuals and small businesses with an urgent legal problem.
- Secondary — Referrers and corporate counsel evaluating capability.
04
Roles and permissions
- Visitor — read-only public pages, can sign up.
- Member — owns their own records, cannot see other users' data.
05
Core features
- Practice area pages written in plain language with typical process and timeline
- Lawyer profiles with credentials, languages spoken and areas
- Fee guidance: fixed fees where possible, ranges where not
- Secure consultation request with conflict-check fields
- Resource library of guides and downloadable checklists
- Office locations with accessibility information
Deliberately later
- Client portal for document exchange
- Online payment of fixed-fee services
- Bilingual content
06
Technical stack
Static-rendered site with a CMS for content, one encrypted server function for enquiries.
Why: Content changes often and enquiries are rare but sensitive — static delivery plus a single hardened endpoint fits exactly.
Alternatives: A full practice-management platform site (integrated, expensive and slow to change) or a template site (cheap, generic and untrustworthy).
07
Conceptual data model
PracticeArea — name, summary, process steps, typical timeline, fee basis
Lawyer — name, title, bar admissions, areas, languages, bio
Enquiry — name, contact, area, description, conflict-check answers, status
Resource — title, type, area, file, published_at
Office — address, hours, accessibility notes, map
08
Integrations
- Encrypted email or case-management handoff
- Calendar booking
- Map embed
09
UI design principles
- Predictable structure, strong trust signals, consistent 8px spacing rhythm.
- Restrained brand colour on actions only; neutral surfaces everywhere else.
- Fast, accessible, and boring in the best way — nothing gets in the user's path.
10
Security considerations
- Enquiry contents are privileged-adjacent: encrypt in transit and at rest, restrict access, and set a retention policy.
- Conflict-check fields collected before any substantive detail is requested.
- Clear disclaimer that submitting a form does not create a lawyer-client relationship.

Solution — Publish ranges with the factors that move the price rather than a single number.
Risk — Enquiry spam
Solution — Rate limiting and a honeypot, never a puzzle that blocks a distressed client.
